also there's a typos @ $ set -um set1 set2, $ comm -3 <(sort -n A) >(sort -n B) | sed 's/\t//g'

btw, i would really appreciate a post comparing the efficiency of some of the solutions when there're several provided.

another thing, being the n00b that i am i can't figure out how to force the following being evaluated echo {$(paste -sd, A)}{$(paste -sd, B)} this returns {3,5,1,2,4}{11,1,12,3,2} but if i wrote directly echo {3,5,1,2,4}{11,1,12,3,2} i'd get the desire cross product?
