dhanu, -x prints commands and their arguments as they are executed:

$ echo hi
hi
$ set -x
$ echo hi
+ echo hi
hi

And -v prints shell input lines as they are read:

$ cat script
#!/bin/bash
#

set -v

. other_script

$ cat other_script
#!/bin/bash
#

echo foo

# ./script

. other_script
#!/bin/bash
#

echo foo
foo
