AWESOME article; outstanding solutions for just about everything except the power set problem.

Here's an idea for a future article: associative array operations in unix shell

MANY developers jump to perl the moment a problem seems to require associative arrays; I've never understood this; it seems to me that similar strategies to the ones you've employed for sets could be employed for associative arrays

Thanks for your efforts to keep the UNIX way alive and well.
