- First of all: Cygwin full installation incl. apache, X-server, vi, awk, perl, exif, wget, rxvt, etc. (Free)
- Emacs together with cygwin (for awk-, perl-, C++-, Java-Development and the great EDiff) (Free)
- Notepad2 (Free)
- VLC to play almost every video (Free)
- SpamBayes Spam filter (together with Eudora or Outlook) (Free)
- Audacity for editing audio files (Free)
- Ethereal to sniff network packages (Free)
- Gimp for image manipulation (Free)
- Irfan View to view all kinds of images (Free)
- Image Magick for image batch processing (Free)
- PDFCreator to print to PDF files (Free)
- Winamp (oldest version available) (Free)
- Audiograbber to rip audio CDs (Free)
- Sequoia View to analyze disk usage!! (Free)
- RVD (Reflection Virtual desktop) (exe taken from a very old reflection CD) (still the best virtual desktop)
- DBVisualizer for DB Stuff (free version)
- plus own stuff
