No, when _you_ are not picking a framework, _you_ are building a framework. Don't put us all in the same basket, please. There has been invested an enormous effort since the 70's to produce design technique for producing software systems that specifically avoid resembling the kind of system a framework is. There are several principles, from many people, so we're still working on it, but people like Robert "Uncle Bob" C. Martin have some fantastic insight, which may help you not build frameworks. I hope you find it useful, and please, please, please, don't propagate lousy engineering, for the love of your co-workers or whoever inherits your source code.
