Peter has a nice blog. Here are some ways:

$ cmd | grep bootcmd | grep -o sdboot3 # GNU grep

$ cmd | sed -n "s/.*bootcmd.*sdboot3.*/sdboot3/p"

If you want to eliminate the newline, use tr command.
