Oops, I forgot to stick to input iterators, sorry. It should of course be:

template< typename InputIterator, typename Function >
Function
for_each( InputIterator first, InputIterator last, Function f )
{
    if ( first != last ) {
        f( *first ) ;
        ++ first ;
        for_each( first, last, f ) ;
    }
    return f ;
}
