@Peteris - thanks for the great article! I enjoyed reading it. I saw examples #12 and #13, but I noticed that they do not print out the line numbers. Instead they simply number the lines that matched. So, let's say that the 5th instance of a match in the file exists on line 52. Examples #12 and #13 will print out "5" for the number instead of "52". That's why I added the additional example in the comments here to print out the actual line number of the matching lines.
